University Of San Marcos

Founded in 1551 by Royal Act of His Majesty Charles V Of Spain, it is recognized as the most antique University in all America. In 40 years more will be its 500 anniversary of continues work teaching many subjects and carrers to people of the colonies and today to peruvians and foreigners who comes to be part of the history of this great old institution.
The image is from San Marcos most emblematic site, known as La Casona (The Big House). It was there where independence ideas came to people in the early XIXth Century.
